The Arizona State Citizen Corps Council was created to advance the mission of the USA Freedom Corps Initiative. It is authorized by Executive Order of the Governor of Arizona. Its members are appointed by, and serve without compensation at the pleasure of, the Governor.
The Council meets quarterly to develop and implement plans to achieve and expand citizen preparedness and participation, engage in ongoing discussions regarding best practices to develop and support local Citizen Corps Councils, exchange facts and information to promote public awareness, training, safety and volunteer opportunities. |

Mission Statement

| The Arizona State Citizen Corps Council will foster the development, growth and sustainability of Citizen Corps efforts by increasing public awareness, sharing information, promoting training and encouraging partnerships to make Arizona safer and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds. |
